Postmen Bite Back !
Royal Mail have launched an inquiry into dog attacks as figures revealed that postal workers are bitten around 4,000 times every year.
Almost 400 staff have been forced to take time off work in the last year after being savaged by animals while doing their round.
In total, workers have been attacked 24,000 times

Encyclopaedia Britannica
The Encyclopaedia Britannica is to cease publication after 244 years of continuous print, and move online as the dominance of digital media intensifies.
Since its launch in Edinburgh in 1768, a new version of the Britannica was available every two years, with the latest 32-volume collection costing £1,195.

Kate Smith, regulatory strategy manager for Aegon UK, said the change was good and bad news for pension savers.
She said:The additional flexibility in how people take their pension benefits is welcome. It will allow them to bring all their funds together at retirement to benefit from better annuity rates and more appropriate annuity shapes.
The bad news is that there will be winners and losers in the state second pension stakes. Many people, particularly those towards the upper earnings limit and beyond, may find they are worse off when we move to a single state pension.

Main office to move - Lincolnshire
The Co-operative Group announced last month that it had given Post Office Limited until December 2012 to relocate its service out of the Hildred's Centre store.
At a full council meeting, Councillor Steve O'Dare proposed that the town council contact Post Office Limited to urge that the replacement branch provides the same level of service and is located in the centre of town.

The UK's largest chain of bakeries, Greggs, said profits and sales rose in 2011 as it opened 84 new stores.
The firm said it wanted to open a further 90 outlets in 2012 and explore new store formats.
Pre-tax profits for the year to 31 December were up 15% to £60.5m. But after stripping out exceptional items, profits rose just 1.1%.
Like-for-like sales, excluding new stores, rose 1.4%, with total sales up 5.8% to £701m.

ROYAL Mail have had to block up 16 of their letter boxes after a dozy postie lost the keys.
Bemused customers in the Woodside area of Aberdeen found plastic barriers where the holes for their mail should be.
